About The Minneapolis-St. Paul American Sewing Guild
The American Sewing Guild is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to people who believe sewing is a rewarding and creative activity. Membership in the Guild is open to the public. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the country and serves the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.
Connect with Neighborhood Groups
Members meet monthly in small groups to share ideas and new techniques. Members "drag and brag" their latest creations to the meetings to share them with the group. Find a group near you.
Learn New Skills and Techniques
The ASG organizes a variety of educational workshops, lectures and trunk shows throughout the year. Events vary from garment fitting, quilting, accessory sewing, using your serger and more. Typically the chapter hosts 2 or 3 nationally recognized sewing experts each year.
Enjoy Sewing Discounts
ASG members enjoy discounts at many local and national retailers, the Selvedge newsletter, Notions magazine, and check-out privileges at our private library. Check out all the benefits from our Retail Partners.
Share Your Skills Through Community Service
ASG members contribute to their communities by sewing a variety of garments, bags, and items for the military, children and others in need. These items are sewn by individuals, by Neighborhood Groups, and at the annual Make A Difference day.
