Let's gather together on Saturday, April 16 to celebrate Spring, sewing friends and creativity! Our annual fashion show will be held at the same location with the same ticket price as last year. We will have a catered luncheon, the style show itself, and a silent auction. The silent auction will begin at 11:00, lunch at 12:00, followed by the style show, and a short period for final bids on the auction after. We should be done by about 2:30.
This is a fun time to share what you’ve been working on, an extension of the “show and tell” that happens at most neighborhood groups. You can also invite others to model items made for them. Any young people who make their own garment and model it will be admitted free, so encourage any youth you know, both boys and girls, to come and model their self-made creations. This would be a great time to support and teach a new generation about sewing.
Of course, style isn’t just in what you wear so we will have space for you to show your accessories, home dec items, quilted items, and other things that don’t lend themselves well to being carried on the runway. Simply complete and return the entry form found in the link to the right. Enter as many items as you wish, but use a separate form for each item please. Remember to get your entries in early so that the committee has time to write the commentary.
Save your cash to compete for great items at the silent auction too. Proceeds help us sponsor educational workshops taught by nationally recognized sewing experts at a reasonable cost. If you know of a retailer who may be interested in donating to our silent auction, please present them with a copy of the Donation Request form found on the right. Perhaps you have something you'd like to contribute to the Silent Auction. AWESOME! Gift certificates, something fun you've created, or a sewing related goodie basket would be perfect! We so appreciate your efforts. The committee has other fun in store for that day, as well.
Speaking of the committee, we are still looking for volunteers. It takes many for a large event like this to run smoothly. Please contact Donella: firstname.lastname@example.org or 612-618-4511 to help with the planning and/or on the day of the event.
On this page you will find the entry form for items to be modeled, the reservation form for reserving your place at the event, and a form for donations to the silent auction. We have a great team led by Linda Van Bargen working on the silent auction and anyone may donate or solicit a donation (or gift certificate) from your favorite vendors – does not need to be sewing related, we all eat, drink, enjoy treats and pampering. Use your imagination. Questions or donation can be sent to Linda at the address on the form or by email to: email@example.com.
Please remember-reservations received after April 11 will be subject to a $15 late registration fee, so send yours in early.
Please help spread the word! Print out a copy or two of the show poster and post it where sewists gather. Like libraries, gyms. churches, your favorite bakery shop? Hand it to your friends and family and make a special day of it! Thank you!
