Community Service Project to celebrate National Sewing Month. Our focus will be placemats for Meals on Wheels. The Shoreview Library Community Service Room is scheduled for 1-4 PM on September 26th. All are welcome to come for any portion of that time. We will break for Brag and Drag around 2:30. We have some fabrics available from donations, but welcome people to bring their own. Attendees will make basic 12x18-inch 2-sided placemats or choose to do some piecing. We plan to have cutting mats and irons available.
Supplies needed:
Sewing machine.
Basic sewing kit (scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutter, etc.)
Chopstick or stylus to poke out corners.
Choices of several basic thread colors.
Optional: Scraps of any low-loft batting. At least 12x18-inches.
Optional: Colorful fabrics, especially novelty prints, food themed prints, or Minnesota prints that would appeal to clients.
Remember to bring Drag and Brag.
