Greetings Chapter Presidents!
Happy New Year! What an eventful year we have just completed! There were so many changes and new beginnings last year. This year, we are looking forward to many exciting programs and exploring many new concepts and ideas. Welcome to the 39 new Chapter Presidents joining us this year; we are thrilled to have you and the fantastic group of presidents returning for another term.
I’m sending my monthly letter out early this month as we have some dates that I want to remind you about. On Sunday evening, January 19th, from 7-8 PM CST, we will present our first Virtual Leadership Exchange of the year, and the topic will be Chapter President’s Orientation. While this session is particularly valuable for new presidents, it serves as a helpful reminder for returning presidents. Most of what you need to know and do to be successful as a Chapter President will be covered, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions as well. Additionally, you will learn how to access the Leadership area of the ASG website and the President’s Discussion List, navigate the documents and forms you will need, and who to contact when you need help or have questions. Be sure to add this date to your calendar. Presenters will be ASG Board Chair Alice Murray and Director Sue Langley. A Zoom invitation Link will be emailed to you next week.
Our February Leadership Exchange will be on February 23rd. Staff member Barbara Cortez will present on Standing Rules. Although these sessions are recorded, I recommend attending the live sessions to participate in discussions, ask questions, and become acquainted with fellow presidents and board members. Recorded sessions will be posted in the Leadership area of the website.
A new January 2025 Chapter Contact List has been posted in the Leadership area of the ASG website. It contains the contact information for each Chapter President, Board of Directors member, and HQ Staff member.
This first mailing of the year also serves as a test of our 2025 CP email list. Bouncebacks will alert me to problems with new presidents’ email addresses. Because some chapters did not submit Change of CAB forms, this may be sent to some who are no longer chapter presidents—if so, please let me know. Thank you!
