September Meeting Minutes

September 10, 2024

The meeting was called to order at 9:33 am by A. Murray

Present:  Margo Martin, Carolyn Chen, Alice Murray,  Sue Langley, Martha Leefson,  Diana Hotelling Lana

Minutes:  The August 2024 BOD Meeting minutes were approved, with spelling corrections.

Virtual Conference Update:
The Email notice to members went out Sept/10/2024. 
Some classes are repeats from the San Francisco classes, serving those who did not attend in person.
B. Cortez working on virtual vendor hall offerings.

Executive Director’s Report:
A General Member Survey for class topic interests, will be sent out.
The Sustainability NNG upcycle challenge has 50 submissions so far. The submission deadline is Sept. 16.

Financials:
Conference Profit & Loss update : no addendums since Sept.
Treasurer’s Quarterly Report:  Rebate payout expense is 30% of budget.
There has been delays in processing and chapter rebate payments due to the July power outage.
Proposed Expense Reimbursement Form – Alice sent out the proposed version to 6-8 ASG Presidents & Treasurers for feedback. Got 3 responses.  
Form Rollout:  (1) Write up in News from National (2) Put on the website.

NNG Sustainability
The web mistress will upload all of the submissions and create the presentation e-file for Sept. 24th’s NNG. {re-scheduled to Oct. 1}
Website Repository for recycling/sustainability update – work is in process.
Sue is maintaining lists of sustainable & deadstock fabric sources, where to send “scraps”.

Nov. NNG: Whitney Dickensen,   Making a jacket from quilts
Jan. 2025 NNG: UNRAVELED book review  - garment industry practices
