2023 Style Show UP NORTH Recap

Over 50 people attended the 2023 Annual ASG Fashion Show that was held at the Embassy Suites in Bloomington on May 6th. The theme for this year’s Fashion Show was “Up North” and the baskets, clothing, garments, and the decor all did a great job in reflecting the theme.

The day started with informal networking, deciding which silent auction items we wanted to take home, looking at the exhibits that our members put together followed by a sit-down lunch. The main event, the fashion show was emceed by Bonnie Johnson and included approximately 31 different outfits and crafts, including 11 competing in the President’s Challenge.

The President’s Challenge is awarded to the item that best represents the Up North theme and is voted upon by all the members. This year’s winner was Marilyn Garcia for her red and black Issac Mizrahi loose-fitting, double-breasted winter coat, made from 100 wool coating fabric. Congratulations Marilyn for such a great coat and thank you to all who contributed to the show and the neighborhood groups that put together baskets for the silent auction.

Next year’s Fashion Show will be held at the same location at the Embassy Suites in Bloomington. We haven’t settled on the final date and theme yet and if you have ideas for the theme, please pass them along to Shelly Hildreth.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2024 ASG Fashion Show and all the examples that show off your skills and fashion sense.
