Seamlines from the President-May 2023

Neighborhood Groups are the heart of our chapter!

We have been successful the last few years to grow our organization and let fellow sewers know about us. We have done this through social media, interactions with the community, changes in relations with retails partners and renewed energy in our organization. One area we want to start focusing on is succession planning. A backup plan in case a key member quits or is not available. We currently have a handful of reliable volunteers who know their piece of the job thoroughly, but if anything happened to them, no one else would know the process. Taking any job and dividing the work into pieces always makes for less of an individual commitment. All of you have special skills and interests that could be utilized. We are going to be posting our job descriptions and asking for people to be a back-up. Not to take over the job - but to start to learn the pieces to help out when/if needed. Even newer members - especially newer members - are encouraged to consider, as often they have fresh ideas and insight. There are a lot of fun areas that could fit with your interests and time availability. Consider being a contributor to the growth or our organization.
